Important Information Before You Change Your Password

  1. First, you need to confirm that your new password meets the following complexity requirements.
    1. At least 8 characters in length
    2. Contain characters from at least three of the following four groups:
      1. Upper case characters (ABC)
      2. Lower case characters (abc)
      3. Numbers (123)
      4. Special characters (%$!)
    3. Not include your network username, first name or last name
    4. Not be the same as the two previously used passwords
  2. If you are changing your password using Webmail or the MyID portal, ensure you are not logged into any system using your current password. If you are logged into other systems that have active connections using your current password, once you change the password using Webmail or the MyID portal, any active connections using the old password will lock you out.
  3. If you are changing your password on a Windows systems via the ctrl-alt-del "Change Password" option, ensure that you are only logged onto that system with you current password. If you are logged into other systems that have active connections using your current password, once you change the password using that computer, any active connections using the old password will lock you out.
  4. If you have an iPhone or iPad that connects to SJ resources, be sure to have your iPhone and/or iPad with you when you change your password.
    1. Place your iPhone or iPad into Airplane mode prior to changing your password (Settings > Airplane Mode > On)
  5. If you must change your network password while off-site use Webmail or the MyID portal.
    1. Note to Windows users: If you change your password and have a St. Jude computer that is offsite, you will need to log into Windows with the old password, log into VPN with the new password, press ctrl-alt-del and lock the computer and then unlock the computer. This should update the cached password on the off-site system.

 

 

 

iOS users: AFTER you have changed your password:

  1. On your iOS device, select Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars
  2. Locate and tap the active St. Jude account (either "SJCRH Email" or "Exchange")
  3. Tap the email address listed
  4. Update your password
  5. Tap Done
    1. Note: You will see a prompt stating “Unable to verify account information.” Tap OK to proceed
  6. Tap Done
    1. Note: You will see a prompt stating that “This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to continue?” Tap Save and Done
  7. Turn off Airplane Mode and exit Settings
  8. Verify you can send and receive emails on your device by sending yourself a test message using your St. Jude email account
